New laws require passport for entry ?
The U.S. State Department has adopted new regulations for travel between the U.S. and nearby countries (Canada,Mexico, Carribbean, Bermuda and countries in Central and South America).
How to obtain a passport ?
You need:
- Two pictures
- Proof of citizenship
- Valid photo ID
How to apply ?
You must apply in person if are:
- First time applicant, or
- Your previous passport was issued when you were 16 years old or younger.
How much does it cost ?
- $97 First time applicant
- $67 renewal
- $60 to expedite (in addition to basic cost)
How long does it take ?
It takes 6 to 8 weeks after the application is submitted, but if you pay to have it expedited, it will take 2 weeks.
